What Is DTF Transfer Film

DTF film is a substrate designed specifically for DTF printing, which uses the principle of thermal transfer to transfer patterns to fabrics or other materials. DTF film is usually made of PET material and has a multi-layer structure, including a base layer, a release layer, an adhesive layer, a printing layer, a protective layer, and an antistatic layer.

Classification and characteristics of DTF film
‌Hot tear film‌: After the hot stamping is completed, the hot stamping film can be torn off before it cools down (usually within 10 seconds after pressing), saving time and improving production efficiency. However, if it is not torn off in time, it may stick to the clothes after cooling down, making it difficult to tear off.
‌Cold tear film‌: It is necessary to wait for the film to cool down to a certain temperature (usually 30 seconds or the film surface temperature is lower than 55℃) before it can be torn off. Cold tear film is suitable for special fabrics, such as coated fabrics, canvas, flannel, etc., because it has better stability and matte color effects.
‌Second tear film‌: It can be torn off almost immediately after the pressing is completed, which is suitable for high-efficiency, mass production scenarios, but has high operating requirements.
Application scenarios and advantages and disadvantages of DTF film
Advantages: high elasticity, anti-stretching, anti-sublimation, anti-slip, no fading, no cracking, no shedding, washable, wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant, easy to transfer and tear.
Disadvantages: If the water in the ink is not completely dried, it may cause water backflow, oil and blistering.
Market application of DTF film
DTF printing film is very popular in the printing market. It not only performs well in the heat transfer printing industry, but also has a wide range of applications in other industries. PET printing film is a common printing film in the printing industry with a very high usage rate.
