Can You Use Sublimation Ink On DTF Film

Sublimation ink cannot be used on DTF film. DTF (Direct to Film) technology and sublimation printing are two different printing technologies, and the inks and applicable materials they use are also different.
DTF technology is to print ink directly on a special film, and then transfer the pattern to the surface of clothing or other materials through thermal transfer. This technology is suitable for all types of fabrics, including dark and light-colored clothing, and the printed patterns have bright colors and delicate details.
DTF ink is usually composed of four color inks and one white ink. It has the characteristics of high compatibility, high color density, no white return, bright colors, etc. After heat transfer, it feels soft, has high color fastness to wet and dry rubbing, and has high color fastness to washing and perspiration.
Sublimation printing is to print the pattern on sublimation paper, and then transfer the pattern to clothing or other items made of polyester and polymer coatings through heat pressing. This technology is suitable for light-colored or white polyester fabrics. The printed pattern has a photo-realistic effect, but the color is not as bright as DTF printing, and white cannot be printed.
Therefore, due to the different materials and processing methods of DTF film and sublimation paper, sublimation ink cannot be used on DTF film. Using the wrong ink may result in poor printing results or equipment damage.
