Can You Sublimate On DTF Film
Sublimation on direct to film is not possible. Direct to film is designed to prevent sublimation, so it cannot be used in the sublimation process. Direct to film usually contains a multi-layer structure, including a base layer, a release layer, an adhesive layer, a printing layer, a protective layer and an antistatic layer. These design characteristics make it unsuitable for sublimation processing.
The main function of direct to film is to prevent the pattern from sublimating during the hot stamping process, ensuring that the pattern does not penetrate into the fabric, thereby maintaining the clarity and durability of the pattern. Therefore, it is not suitable for sublimation paper. Sublimation paper is designed to allow ink to penetrate into the fabric, while direct to film is designed to prevent such penetration.
