Description
HaiYi PET film for DTF is a technology that transfers patterns from PET film to textiles through thermal transfer.
Release layer: ensures that the film is easy to peel off after thermal transfer.
Ink-absorbing layer: receives ink and forms patterns.
PET substrate: provides stability and temperature resistance (thickness is usually 50-100μm).
2. Usage steps
① Preparation before printing
Use RIP software to generate CMYK+white channel files (dark fabrics require white ink as base).
Choose water-based DTF ink or sublimation ink (depending on the type of fabric).
② Printing pattern
Print the pattern on the PET film through a digital printer, with a resolution of 1200DPI recommended.
Drying method: Water-based ink needs to be dried (60-80℃, 3-5 minutes), and sublimation ink can be dried naturally.
③ Thermal transfer operation
Equipment: flat heat press or roller transfer machine (recommended temperature 150-165℃, time 8-12 seconds, pressure 4-6kg).
Steps:
a. Lay the fabric flat and cover it with high-temperature paper (to protect the fiber).
b. Align the pattern side down, and quickly tear off the film after hot pressing (hot tearing) or tear it off after cooling (cold tearing).
④ Post-processing
Highly elastic fabrics can be baked at 40℃ for 3 minutes to improve adhesion.
3. Core advantages
Color expression Supports high-saturation colors and gradients, and the color gamut covers 95% of Adobe RGB.
Washability No obvious fading after 30 machine washes at 40℃ (water-based ink), sublimation ink has higher washability.
Fabric compatibility Suitable for cotton, polyester, blended and special coated fabrics (pretreatment agent is required).
Production efficiency Single piece transfer time <20 seconds, suitable for small batch orders.
Cost-effectiveness No plate making is required, and consumables cost is low (PET film price is about ¥20-40/m²).
Environmental protection Water-based ink has no VOCs and meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification.
4. Common specifications
Thickness of film 50μm (standard), 75μm (high hiding), 100μm (3D effect)
Width/length A4 (210×297mm), A3+ (329×483mm), roll (30m/roll) or single sheet
Ink type Water-based DTF ink, sublimation thermal transfer ink
Printing resolution 600-1200 DPI (recommended 1200 DPI)
Transfer parameters Temperature 150-165℃, time 8-12 seconds, pressure 4-6kg
Stretch resistance Can withstand 20-30% stretching of fabric without deformation (depending on ink and pretreatment agent)
