Direct to Film Transfer

Direct to Film Transfer (DTF) is a digital printing technology that allows patterns to be printed directly onto special films, which are then transferred to clothing, fabrics, or other material surfaces through thermal transfer.

Usage
Design pattern: Use design software to create or import the pattern you want to print.
Printing preparation: Place a special film (such as PET film) in the DTF printer and adjust the printer settings to suit the film and ink type.
Printing pattern: Print the pattern on the film, usually including white ink primer (for dark fabrics) and color ink coverage. Some advanced DTF printers, such as powder-free DTF printers, may use glue adhesive instead of traditional hot melt powder.
Heat transfer: Place the film with the pattern on the fabric to be transferred, and use a heat press to heat it at appropriate temperature and pressure to transfer the pattern to the fabric.
Cooling and tearing the film: After the fabric cools down, tear off the film and the pattern is successfully transferred to the fabric.

Bright colors: It can accurately restore the colors in nature, making the printed patterns bright and full.

Environmentally friendly materials: Some DTF inks use non-toxic, low-volatile organic compounds (VOCs) environmentally friendly materials to reduce pollution to the environment.
Wide applicability: Not only suitable for a variety of fabrics (such as cotton, linen, chemical fiber, leather, etc.), but also suitable for various design styles and patterns.

Specifications
The common specifications of DTF technology are usually related to the film size and printer model used. Common film sizes include A3, A4 and rolls of different widths (such as 30cm, 60cm, etc.). Specific specifications may vary depending on the brand and supplier.

Applied fabrics

Cotton and linen fabrics: soft and breathable, suitable for making T-shirts, shirts and other clothing.
Chemical fiber fabrics: such as polyester, nylon, etc., have good wear resistance and elasticity, suitable for making sportswear, outdoor equipment, etc.
Leather fabric: suitable for making leather products such as bags and shoes, increasing the fashion sense and uniqueness of the products.
Other materials: such as wood, glass, ceramics and other boards can also be used for DTF printing, expanding the application scope of DTF technology.

Suitable ink
DTF technology is suitable for using inks designed for DTF printers. These inks usually have good adhesion and transfer effects, which can ensure the clarity and color vividness of the pattern. At the same time, these inks should also have good wear resistance and washability to meet the needs of daily use. Some DTF inks also use environmentally friendly materials to reduce pollution to the environment.
